My family has good years and bad (mostly good). One bad year, one of my favorite uncles was on the outs with his 8 siblings because he couldn’t quit being an asshole to his now ex-wife. He was emotionally manipulative and everyone knew it. I didn’t, because I was only 8 or so.

I’d definitely flip the turkey and cranberry, but the rest are pretty close to what I like

Now playing

Maybe she should’ve opened for Arlen Specter bad when he was being a garbage comedian:

Should they thank Byron Allen for taking this to court and moving the ball forward?

AKA John Loofah, the cleanest detective in the Greater London Metro

Outside of the major cities, I don’t go north of Boca Raton. I’ll stay south with my other black Caribbean people.

This guy looks like he just crawled out of the sea and is just barely sliding into becoming a human being.

Also, a problem with this is that black people are going to hear this and it might drop a seed of doubt.

You know the scene in American Gangster when Denzel walks up the green with Ruby Dee and points out a mansion, telling her, “that’s yours, momma,” and she goes “that’s my house!?”

The klan was formed to protect white women from 1) abusive husbands and 2) the threat of black men. Sure they were Democrats, but there was a switch that happened, initially in the 20s, that trickled into the next 40 years. Are the democrats great? Generally no, but they have some representatives willing to work for

This ad is dangerous and can confuse people because it starts with a true premise (black men being lynched based on white accusation) and veers into the Republicans being the saviors of blacks people. It lies in many different ways.

Those are just attempts to take set asides for specific communities, usually black descendants of enslaved people. When people use the one drop rule it’s often to prevent miscegenation and to keep (white) people “pure.”

America is the one drop country

Nancy Maclean’s“ behind the mask of chivalry” goes into this in a historical context.

Being a black man in America who understands blackness, America, history, policy, gender, power dynamics, and hierarchy, I blame black people and black men last regarding group dynamics. Sure, there are individual problems and hurt people hurting people problems, but those are developed and not innate.

Kevin Hart should send Katt Williams a bouquet off flowers and $1000 every day. Until his flame-out, Katt was The Next Big Thing.

The guy who walked into Port u Prince and influenced (influences) policy, without having a background in it, is talking about nuance? Can someone douse him in gasoline before he lights his next Lucky?

Doesn’t everyone beg for government money? How is it begging for scraps if you’re black, but good business practice if you’re Raytheon?

John Legend is the first black man to win all competitive awards. There have been other black men who received an non-competitive award (honorary Oscar, et al) and got there first, but JL got there in competition, which must be even sweeter

He was terrible for Black residents of Chicago. From closing those schools to not challenging the police interactions, he’s an example of leadership in this country being unable to confront the real problems and just shuffling chairs on a sinking ship.
