There was nothing impossible about Rick's scenario. Glenn - that's crazy that he's expected to survive that. But all Rick needed to do is open the door, get out and run.

We don't see the RV being surrounded, they only start coming from the woods in the last overhead shot. Rick could have simply got out and run the second it went black for us. No need for miracles really.
