I understand the instant reaction that this is another “nanny state” policy, but it isn’t like a sugar tax or something. This is to incentivize adoption of a new technology that will lead to a better result for residents, but is impossible for private residents or business to do on its own. This isn’t punitive action

Needs brightening...

I was going to star this, but I saw it already had 45...I left it alone.

I do a spit-take every time I look at used truck prices these days. New truck prices are out of control, and that’s driving used truck prices up to stupid levels. This is a great example. Only in this bizarro world we live in would someone expect more than $3,000 for a cosmetically and structurally questionable, high

This is a perfect first car for a high-schooler. It is very similar to what I and all of my buddies would have been rocking at the time. We all had Saturns, Neons, or whatever other uninspiring econobox had come out about 10 years earlier. Mine had a manual because it was cheaper and I could use that toward gas money

It has some well done modifications that actually clean up the look of the Elise just a bit (though he went a little far with the de-badging IMO). I particularly like the removal of all of those louvers. That really did improve the look of the car.

I like everything about it, except the price. My uneducated, gut

I don’t know exactly why, but this comment tickled me. Enjoy your star.

This is just a tweet, and marketing the fact that they did well on crash tests. That clip was probably chosen because the marketing guys thought it looked the coolest and it was going to draw a bunch of re-tweets. I’ll bet the fishhook video didn’t make for as good a tweet. Not as “gif-able” or as dramatic. What makes

That’s a hard one, because my Mom drove two cars that I think are a dead heat in terms of “cool.” One is her 1982 Volkswagen Rabbit Coupe. This is the closest picture I could find, but I loved the red and white checkered interior on it.

Why...? You want some dude to be completely unemployable for his entire life (and likely subsidized by taxpayer money through food stamps, etc.) just because he made one mistake in his 20’s...?

This made me laugh way more than it should have.

Watching the actual smash wasn’t as satisfying as I had hoped, so well played I’d say.

That GIF is brilliant and infuriating.

Consider the alternative, putting the engine on a non-existent aircraft? That could negatively impact results.

I’m not arguing it is perfect, and I do hope they come up with something better than the halo, but removing it is a step backward in safety for the sake of entertainment. Improve it, yes. Remove it, no.

I totally agree with you on how it was haphazard, and this lack of planning on the camera placement is causing

The fact that this will mean people call for the halo to be removed is amazing to me. It is a safety feature. So they couldn’t find a better place to mount the camera that takes the halo into account, it doesn’t take anything away from the effectiveness of the halo in doing it’s job, protecting the driver. I don’t

The Jeep community is interesting. I am old enough to remember the outrage over square headlights, and the delight that the circle headlights are returning. The claim was that “real Jeeps” had round headlights.

Now, enter this aftermarket where you can take a “real Jeep” and turn it into a GoBot knock-off transformer.

*Not valid in Texas.

I’ve been driving for a week with what I thought was a bad alternator but turned out to be a broken serpentine belt. I kept putting the battery on a charger each night so I could get to the weekend.

Yea, dumb. I know,right?

Its not like GM and other automakers had more motivation to make gasoline cars economically viable.
