Circa Y2K, I worked retail with a kid in college who drove a beat up old 87 Mercury Cougar with the muffler rusted out. It was noisy and smelly and he intentionally hammered it every chance he had.

He claimed “it has an engine that was built to NASCAR specifications”

We got so annoyed we decided to prank him after

That H&R Block deal came really early last year, Jan 2nd, so I was hoping for it again this year. I was going to bite the bullet and buy it today at full price, but I’m glad I checked here first! Good timing!

Whoever called it “desperate” completely confuses me. It is a great looking car. Just modern enough so that it doesn’t feel like it is getting left behind, but not some cylon looking monster. It looks like what an Aston Martin should look like.

Sadly, this is the truth.

Sir Vival

What, do only the grays get this?
In any case, it deserves more stars.

Driving my S-10 ZR2 at the Silver Lake Sand Dunes in MI. I misjudged the approach angle of a dune and slammed the frame into a steep dune. Despite the skidplate, I managed to rip off the remote oil filter.

My favorite so far.

That’s not art....

grounded to the ground

At least there wasn’t another train in the way, not like the incident a couple years ago on the Blue Line in Chicago.

Well, I for one don’t know how to dip off onto side streets to avoid construction without entering a world of hurt.

As a born and bred Chicagoan, you can do the same thing here if you are willing to risk that too. Given some neighborhoods you’d find yourself in around here, I’ll add the delay thankyouverymuch.

I came here to say exactly that. How that city wound up on this list is completely lost on me. As a Chicagoan who regularly drives through on the way up north... unbelievable.

I was driving up on 94 and they closed all lanes in both directions for over an hour for a car fire on the shoulder. In Chicago, they would have

You mean Matchbox. When I was a kid, Matchbox and Hot Wheels were different companies so the perception was that Matchbox were better as they were made in England, and Hot Wheels were made in Taiwan. Even now Matchbox are more faithful to the actual car models, whereas Hot Wheels are garish and cartoonish

Wait, so no “9-1”references? More grammarians troll Deadspin than actual trolls?

Well color me shocked.

It’s like Lenin said, man.

My car.

I see more stance-bro Miatas than track-bro Miatas. Usually there is no cage, and at least 2 body panels are primer. Blacked out taillights and crapcan muffler are also required. Any mods are pure aesthetics and performance increases are a side-effect easily negated by poor installation or other mods. Optional Monster

I Dunc think I Kane come up with a better one than that.

I don’t normally laugh out loud at comments, but I LOL’d. Star for you.
