We’ll have to disagree, then. I still think photography is the best comparison, here - we’ve decided that photographs can be artistry because they involve artistic curation by a person, but initially it was actually controversial over whether photographs could be copyrighted and the earliest photograph copyright

More than one way to activate Perpetual Acceleration Mode, it appears.

It won’t affect their contracts, at least not those that don’t have multiple competitors. The company is too strategically valuable to the US to be allowed to fail.

Well received by critics, but not a hit show in terms of viewership.

I am so looking forward to this. I’ll give any Eggers film a watch in theaters after how much I enjoyed The Lighthouse and The Northman

It doesn’t make people lazy about art, anymore than photography does.

They’re using AI as a tool for creating art, and then curating and modifying it for artistic purposes. That’s fundamentally no different than doing artistry via photography, for example.

It’s creating art with new technologies, no different than using digital software to create art is still art even if you didn’t use a paintbrush or pencil.

Having ScarJo talk about Jurassic Park being one of the first films she remembers seeing in theaters makes me feel old.

Maybe they’ll end up as collection cars at some point, given the scarce number of them.

The article is paywalled - is anyone interested in Fisker’s EV tech? It seems unlikely, since all the automakers are already doing their own EV programs. But maybe it could speed up some of their efforts.

Whatever they actually say in policy doesn’t matter, especially with Trump. What matters is whether Trump comes across as being very visibly in decline or dementia, in a way that goes below even the very low expectations for him going into the debate.

It wouldn’t be as bad if we knew another season was coming next year, but instead we probably have another 2-year delay after this. They really should shoot shows like this 16 episodes at a time, so they can then split them into two separate seasons that can be finished and released on a year-by-year basis.

We’re 100% getting Sheepstealer, given how much Nettles featured in the Dance in Fire and Blood

Hell, I totally forgot about him from Fire and Blood. When they mentioned his name, I had him confused with the maester Targaryen Vaegon (where there was the running gag in the fandom that Martin forgot about him and he kind of just outlives everyone).

I think even without having read Fire and Blood, show-viewers can probably guess that there’s something going on with these two prominently featured sailors/shipwrights getting special attention from Corlys.

Otto is so great to watch in every scene he’s in. I like the idea that that was the final straw for him - they had a great plan, and it was pissed away. I hope we get more of him, or at least a cameo when he visits Highgarden.

I really wish I could grow a blood orange tree here. My grandparents had an orange tree, and it was pretty cool to suddenly get a ton of oranges each year.

I’m glad artists are experimenting with new technologies for creating art, and it’s a pity they keep getting punished for it because of the negative response from a bunch of perpetually-online assholes on social media.

If Disney had wanted to do another Fantastic Four movie 5-10 years ago and he’d been willing, very good chance he gets cast as Reed Richards. He’s got the look and can do the part.
