No because I'd never in a million years be ok with that. I know those kind of situations can work for some people, but honestly it'd make me more of a wreck than I already am.
I think a lot of the contempt people have for her now is a combination of slut-shaming ("ZOMG! SHE BANGED THE PRESIDENT AND WAS A SEX SYMBOL AND GOT DIVORCED A FEW TIMES!!") and the same shaming people are so keen to applying to people who suffer from mental illness and chemical dependencies.
Well, at the time, she was ridiculed for wanting to better herself intellectually. I think she was quite bright, but poorly educated. And I hate the contempt people have for her — she was smart enough to create a persona that has survived well past her death. That isn't the work of a stupid person.
Me too, but I also wish I could believe it was intellectual curiosity and not a constant attempt to overcome a sense of never being good enough, which is heartbreaking.
