You’re surprised that Deadspin ignored something that would’ve been fixed with video replay?

Throwing the ball to the last check down would 1) still keep the clock moving and 2) vastly increase the chance of a defensive penalty to win the game.
Nah it means Scherzer is pitching game 7
Yet somehow his take was better than yours on this post
Somehow you managed to make an even worse comment than the one you replied to! Congratulations.
Calling a good start by Zack Greinke a “statistical anomaly” based on 14 innings pitched in October 2019 is hysterically awful on so many different levels.
Yes, because you’re a bitter Yankees fan pretending to care about this.
The truly ironic part is they love to shit on baseball players and fans who talk about “playing the right way,” yet they turn around and do the same thing for basketball. With no hint of self-awareness.
Well, no, but they’re also probably not beating Cole/Verlander/Greinke/Peacock, backed by a (slightly) better lineup and a (much) better bullpen, 4 out of 7 times. This game went as well as the Nationals could have hoped, yet Houston still had more baserunners and chances throughout the game.
You can’t be serious. The Capitals owner is a child abuser, and the Nationals were stolen from Montreal. You’d see plenty of unique reasons to hate DC other than football if you’d ever pull your head out of your ass.
....he pitched in all four of the Astros victories with a 3.52 ERA over those four outings. He didn’t panic after blowing the lead, and he earned the victory in the clinching game.
It would also be the same situation where Osuna didn’t panic, retired the side without giving up the lead, and earned the victory after they lost another valuable right-handed reliever to injury, which only boosts Osuna’s value in the World Series.
lol, Domingo German and Aroldis Chapman are in the same boat as Osuna, and I’m guessing Brett Gardner isn’t stumping for Elizabeth Warren. Meanwhile, Yankee fans were actively assaulting the Astros’ players and fans throughout the series. You couldn’t have picked a worse counterexample.
Deadspin approved commenter, ladies and gentlemen!
Another example of replay ruining sports. Why can’t we just let referees guess what happened on the field? This game would have been over 8 minutes sooner without replay review, and that’s what’s important here — not who deserved to win the game.
It’s mind-blowing. Proves they don’t know shit about what Robinson went through.
Yes, the old series tie after 5 games.
So not only was your initial statement about the number of teams dumb, it was also irrelevant to your point? Okay then!
“Most teams have 5 MiLB affiliates. So how do you eliminate 25% of 5?”
It’s disingenuous to say a disrupted celebration is not a celebration.
