Breakaway bases are recommended by doctors because idiot kids are not taught how to slide properly. They are not recommended for professional baseball (as your link only indicates recommendation for recreational baseball). I’m guessing the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons would recommend against standing 60

In fairness, those Super Bowl teams were shitty too. Their best team under Eli lost their first playoff game.

Lol, that’s not what the OP said

It’s not magical to know most closers aren’t worth huge multi-year contracts, let alone this fucking guy.

lol

If you drown, then you will be dead.

Yes, murderers should have as much money as possible. Do NOT remove their possessions. Let them keep everything.

Too bad he has to play defense, which is why they were losing 1-0 to begin with

Lauren = staff writer for Deadspin; Gabe = “you.”

This is the same type of play Deadspin WANTED to be a penalty. And now you bitch about it:

Those aren’t the only two options, child.

Yeah that damned MIT football team has too much money.

So the refs fucked up the game. Thanks Gabe!

It’s always funny to see the morons who say it’s an NFL problem.

Um, he didn’t think he was injured badly right away, and then he thought better of it.

Um, MLB doesn’t change their catch rule nearly as often as the NFL.

On a botched transfer play in the infield, the player releases the ball from the glove but fails to secure it with the bare hand. It counts as a catch because the infielder released it from the glove intentionally.

He dropped the ball unintentionally, so it’s not a catch. You have to voluntarily release it from the glove for the catch to be called.

Since 1 WAR is worth about 8 million dollars, and he’s at 3.6 WAR for the year making 25 million, he has outperformed year 1 of his contract in only five months.

Nah, the strike zone is the single most important part of the baseball field.
