Same here re: sunroof. So I drive my GTI & patiently save for a 997.2 Targa 4S or Carrera 4S. Yeah he put a CLA45 AMG badge on his CLA250...but forgot the “4Matic” fender badges.

The R is nice enough for people who care and not too nice for people who judge others for having “fancy” cars. Unless he lives in, say, West Palm Beach.

People who are ignorant won’t care or will ignorantly judge an R. People who know will love the R. Opposite situation of, say, someone who puts fake AMG bages on their CLA250 (my co-worker...).

I am the owner of a “fast” one (modded GTI) and can attest that, yes, the slow ones are boring. My aunt and uncle own a Jetta and Passat. They are not cars I would buy. There is a reason the R and GTI receive so many accolades.

True...but none of the other cars are unassuming 3200 lb, AWD, German hatchbacks with all the fancy tech. Japanese screams boy racer, all the other stuff weighs a lot.
