You can also drink & dine on and around “Ollie’s Folly” in Quepos, Costa Rica. I have and it’s awesome. It is a cargo plane (Fairchild C123) brought back to Quepos from *Nicaragua and in 2000 it was reassembled & perched on a hillside just off the road. Most of the fuselage basically hangs over the jungle. Eat dinner

Can confirm, as someone who has been involved in the build and operation of several art cars over the years. As careful as you try to be, even at only 5mph, someone will ride or run up next to your towering 3-mast replica of an 18th century American Schooner (made from an RV), fall, and nearly go under the wheels

Whoa dude, slow your roll. In the nearly 20 years I’ve been going, the Leave No Trace principle is taken very seriously. Ask me how I know. Just because the Org “didn’t get back” to you doesn’t mean it wasn’t handled. Crews spend at least another month out there sweeping the playa. Yes, they knew about this situation.

Since I’m not in the “have penis of whatever size” category, I could care less. The Porsche snobs who look down on the 944 can get stuffed. NP even though i would PREFER a non-cab, with a turbo. I see what 944s in decent shape go for on BAT....

Yep. I’ve put $15k into my ‘87 BMW 635Csi, but being the US version with an auto, I’m pretty dam clear it’s not worth over $15k right now. 187k miles and has a couple minor but $$ issues. Much more collectible than the GTI, with way more hp, but I’m being realistic. And I love GTIs. I DD a 2012 right now

My 2012 GTI is a giant smile generator. I paid $12k for the fully loaded Autobahn trim, used, this year. The price on this Mk1 is just too damn high.

“Imports” he says. Hahahaha

Sorry mate. Just saw this.

“...stuck”... LOL. I went from a Bimmer to a GTI and I’ve never been happier. Yes, even with fwd. Never thought I’d say that, but there you go

+1 on that. Can definitely depend on the marque and the era too. Preventive Maintenance!! Whether by yourself, the dealer, or the indy shop....

BEFORE it was time to take Drivers Ed in high school, my stepdad taught me to drive in my mom’s early ‘80’s Honda Civic (it was new at the time), and his Chevy Silverado stepside, both manual of course. I was 14. We lived in the middle of nowhere on a long, flat two lane highway here in CA. BLESS HIM. He was a great

Newer BMWs yes 100%. It’s different in classics BMW circles...in my experience anyway

Hipsters up here in the Gray Area LOVE to convert w123s to biodiesel. There’s a fill up station in Berkeley

Rally? Psshh. Much more realistic to put in your local 24 Hours of Lemons & kill it already

THIS. German cars of that era have terrible AC systems. They break on the regular. Ask me how I know. I’d do a hard pass on the Merc for that reason, even though I agree they are still awesome

Hard core car gal who went from a 30 year old BMW 635Csi (long history of meh cars prior to this, when I was younger) to an Autobahn package GTI with DSG. GET THE GTI. Seriously I didn’t think I could find another car more fun than my beloved BMW. I haven’t looked back. Bought it used (it’s a 2012) with 90k miles.

No more interesting COLORS to choose from for most cars, it seems. Everything’s white, black, silver or grey.

I like to drive by and say not too loudly, “Nice car/truck, sorry about your penis!”

A 36k mike warranty?!? That’s....not saying much for the manufacture’s faith in their product. Just sayin’

THIS. All day, this. As a female enthusiast, mucho importante to me. Consider WHEN the conversation was had about some issue. And don’t go with the first yahoo you read on the forums. Read carefully, investigate their links and consider their experience as best you can.
