That always amuses me no end. “Swearing is a terrible sin, so I will never do it! Instead, I will substitute a few symbols for letters in common swear words, because I believe the god I worship is so stupid he doesn’t understand what I’m really saying.”
I will when people quoting scripture will stop prosecuting, harassing and killing gays, women and people of other religions.
So a woman bravely opposing oppression taking down a symbol of hate, does not move you to tears, but her quoting parts of a book that was once used excuse slavery does?
Can we also talk about the people who insist on backing in to parking places? Not just their driveway, but in busy fucking parking lots. It messes up the flow of everyone trying to park, and what is the point? I consider it a deal breaker on anyone I date. It’s trivial, stupid and small of me to judge one on that…
Unless you own the parking lot, it is by definition not your problem. You don’t “have a right” to a space more than anyone else. Seeking needless confrontation is stupid in any circumstance.
Maybe this is just me, but if I see a really nice car out by itself in a parking lot but the lot’s starting to fill up and it’s just a matter of time before people will be parking next to it, I will go park next to it and give it a good margin of space to create something I like to call a car-bro buffer. Do other car…

Now I’m hungry.
Reports out of Alouettes training camp say that Michael Sam was having a hard time adjusting to his role in the 12-man CFL defensive scheme, where teams generally employ a fifth defensive back.
Well shootings are actually relatively rare compared to rejection (I would assume, though I don’t think stats on the number of rejections per day are readily available) so it’s probably safe to assume most men aren’t going to shoot someone over being rejected.
Exactly. What I’m getting at is there wouldn’t be any obvious reason to vet her racial background. There’s nothing precluding a white person from heading an NAACP chapter, so why lie? And if there’s no reason to lie, why investigate her race? I mean, obviously, they have reason to look in the future, but it would have…
White people can and have (in the distant past) head the NAACP. It would be discriminatory to base the position on her skin color.
You make some good points in your first paragraph, but Stuart Scott never won the award. That being said, while the ESPYS are a joke, the list of people that won this award is pretty damn impressive. If you look at the list and what the winners have gone through, Michael Sam and Caitlin Jenner are pretty obvious…
I don’t know Tom, I mean. I am afraid here at Deadspin to say what I think without repercussion. I mean, I get the ESPYs are just famewhoring anyways. I do think reasonable people (not necessarily just Bob Costas) have legit hesitations about hoisting Caitlyn up so unequivocally. I’m sorry :(
Forget game recaps, this is literally the type of article I come to Deadspin for.
Four other cops testified that the man had his hands up and said he did not want to get shot. Then a cop shot him and said, "sorry". Defend that.
