All ventilators provide PEEP. CPAP is PEEP. A lot of travel and MRI ventilators are pneumatic and require no electricity. The air is secondary and needed for oxygen blending and titration.

50000 pneumatic vents that might not be able to handle the type of aggressive settings Covid19 patients require. They’re great for a mass casualty or a disaster with power loss, but will be marginally helpful for lung sick people. Woo hoo!
