This is somehow comforting to know I didn’t just imagine half the Erasure concert I attended as being Asian.

I feel the same way. It’s rough around some edges, I get that. But I’m seriously enjoying my time in the game. I think I’m 200+ hours logged now and on my 3rd play-thru and just enjoy roaming the city and taking in the sites. It’s a nice distraction in lieu of actual traveling, and the city really is amazing.
I admit I could see myself wearing that.
Having been in the architectural industry this long now, I’d say urban planning and place-making are more important to the game (and many games tbh) than architecture specifically. They can take grand gestures from architectural motifs and utilize those (there’s alot of Brutalism throughout the game). But they were…
I miss the Designers Republic of the late 90's/early 00's.
Loved Summer Wars, was ok with Wolf Children and The Boy and the Beast (full disclosure, hated Mirai because of the kid’s voice), so looking forward to Belle. I’m always down for more virtual nuttery.
There’s meta commentary here as I was sitting here with the choice of responding and un-greying your comment or dismissing/leaving it in the grey. Grey. Gray. Grey. Whoa “gray” looks weird.
This is weird. On one hand I do find modern cancel culture to be excessive and overreactive. And on the other hand racist jokes are shitty and unnecessary. But on the third unexpected why the fuck do I have three hands hand, who the dick wrote that line and thought “huh huh...I made a funny”?
I put a moratorium on trips to Japan because I’ve been um...7 times. As recently as last fall actually. Then again, I did put a moratorium 5 trips ago too, and that didn’t hold. And yea, I’m not even close to scratching the surface. But whatever, I know what I like. So short of moving there, I’ll just keep visiting…
I was considering a number of places to visit once tourism opens up next year (excluding Japan because I visit so often). But you know what...fuck that. Japan’s back on the top of the list.
This is a country that has certain political actors repeatedly undermine trust in government, science, and really anything that opposes their agenda. They might’ve just been self-serving, but this is the result of that repeated erosion. The stupidification of the populace to the point where they’ll drag themselves…
Someone remind me why we keep Staten Island around. Would New Jersey not take them?
Stupidity and selfishness are universal. A good upbringing and society can combat these inclinations. But sometimes humans gotta human.
“If you care about a game and are willing to go and spam dislike some random dude on the internet because you cant play it for 3 minutes, it’s stupid.”
There’s definitely something to selectively liking and disliking aspects of a country. The US is in a similar (but not the same) boat right now. I’d also imagine younger Chinese don’t hold onto hate as long as the older generations. Like any society, there are large variances amongst the population, and moreso as time…
Looking through the various comments, I think I’m in this camp. Everyone wants thoughtful commentary on shit and they want it stated publicly. And when they don’t, people act like someone pissed in their coffee.
One part Howl’s and two parts Laputa.
So pretty. Has a nice Ghibli vibe to it.
And I’m sure as hell you’re wrong. It really doesn’t take much effort to do a little research first before disputing your own error. Try a little. Just a little.
No, firearms were developed in China back in the 13th century, and arguably even earlier. They didn’t appear in Europe until the 14th century. Who the shit would use gunpowder for centuries and think “yea medicine is the best use of this explosive, definitely not weaponry.”
