Lyin’ and crimin’ for Jesus never goes out of style.

That might be the best response from the Joint Chiefs. Just casually let slip that they are studying the potential closure of Maxwell-Gunter and Fort Rucker and Redstone Arsenal.

And maybe a trip away from Washington will open Tuberville’s eyes to just how out of hand this entire debacle has gotten.

The Commander In Chief needs to pull all military personnel out of the hostile State of Alabama. It isn’t safe there.

Prisoner number 98N744, Antonio Nappa. Convicted June 4, ‘98 - Murder in the second degree. Sentence: 80 years, up for parole in 50.” RIP

I agree all this celebrity worship is just so freaking strange to me.

Yes, celebrity culture, religion, and many other human institutions/general stuff do not hold up to scrutiny.  You accept it as wallpaper most of the time, but there those good-god-what-are-we-all-doing moments that do, in fact, define sanity.

So cool that G/O Media moved AVClub from Chicago to LA so we could get pointless bullshit like this

she makes nice songs, but i just do not get the rabid adoration she or any other human being gets

Yes! Or those who confuse “loose” and “lose.”

My personal peeve is people who can’t use affect and effect correctly.

Per AP Stylebook, 2023:

John Oliver described the process of setting up Our Lady of Perpetual Exemption as “disturbingly easy”. I doubt Scientology broke a sweat getting their tax exempt status.

As much as I’d love to see these Xenu freaks nailed to the wall by Remini, I’d much rather them lose their tax exempt status.

That press release seems totally hinged, not unhinged at all.

Once someone accuses someone else of generally “spreading hate” without getting into specifics you know they’re a fascist

Just curious—do you just not like/actively hate musicals (which is of course totally fine if you do)?

This was truly painful to watch. Musical episodes are always bad, but this was particularly horrible. This isn’t why people watch Star Trek. Only episode of this show that I’ll never watch again.

This. Everything you wrote. Snyder’s Objectivism so obviously blinds him from writing characters that act like actual humans. He constantly pushes his “cool bro” director’s cuts while fanning the vitriol of his toxic fans. I’m sure he’s a nice guy, but he’s also a douche (it can be TWO things).
