This reminds me of something my Communications professor said back in college:
“Women bond by talking, by men bond by doing things together.”
It’s something of a generalization, but I feel it’s accurate.

I live in a small Iowa city with a very, very active racing community, that is rural enough that said community has way too much crossover into redneck territory. Therefore, I see your “Long Islanders”, and raise you “brodozer drivers that think the highway is the same as the IMCA Super Nationals track”.

This was literally what I was going to type when I read this.  Glad to see I’m not alone in this response.

Raphael, you should ask the whole Jalopnik staff what their favorite concept cars are. I’m curious to see what everyone would choose.

That’s amazing

Isn’t this what fan fiction is for?

It’s really sad to me that it’s taken me 19 years to realize, because of that X-Men history video, that Ian McKellen’s Magneto helmet design is basically Scarlet Witch’s headpiece combined with a helmet.  I am a longtime comics fan, and I love studying various character and prop design.  How did I not see this before?

I may be misunderstanding the science here, but since superionic ice is effectively oxygen in a solid phase state and hydrogen in a liquid phase state, what would the phase transition process be like?

As an Iowan, even though I’m not in King’s district, so I can’t try to vote him out, I feel compelled to share this t-shirt offered by an Iowa-based company, Raygun:

For as much of a rusted box as Project POStal is, I’ll be damned if it’s not photogenic in those pics.

That demolished blue Mustang, though, makes me quite sad.

Nah, I’d like to see Mack interact with Robbie again.  If for no other reason than to hear Mack and Robbie’s brother, Gabe, snark at each other again.

I’m curious as to the granularity of the data gathering. For example, I am very anti-phone usage when driving, due to some frightening near-collisions and some actual wrecks. However, I technically “use” my phone on my drive home every day.

I live about 35 minutes from my workplace. On the drive to work in the morning,

This makes me miss Top Gear’s Cool Wall, in that “cool” or “classic” is often such an undefinable quality

I get why manufacturers go for non-standard door types on concept cars like the HabaNiro’s butterfly doors, but all I keep thinking is they weren’t designed for the parking lots in the area where I live.  I watch gifs and videos of butterfly and gull-wing doors opening, and all I can see are the dings and scratches

From what I understand, since Disney came away from the Fox deal with Fox’s shares of Hulu, they now have a controlling stake. Because of that, I’ve seen rumors that Disney+, ESPN, and Hulu might be offered as a package at a discounted rate. It might just be Netflix that gets dropped by a lot of people.

I’m still pissed at Ford for their plans to drop any model outside of SUVs, trucks, crossovers, and the Mustang in the North American market, but damn, if that illuminated Mustang logo doesn’t look sharp

I think part of that is Nate’s actor, Nick Zano, took some time off because his son had some medical issues, so he had to step away from the show for a bit.

What do you want Ford and VW to work together on?

I swear, James will never stop being something of an idiot.

My wife and I are Disney Vacation Club members, and currently have a Walt Disney World annual pass. We’re going again in October, and I was wondering if this was going to be open by that trip. Good to know, though we’re going to have to plan carefully to get on the rides before it gets too busy. Looks like we’re
