They can, their beam is the max allowable of the smallest canal on the route, I replied higher up with all the Wikipedia sources for the dimensions of the canals and the Buyan M Class Corvettes

Well, the Volga Don canal allows access to the Black Sea but it’s a tight fit for a frigate from the photos I’ve seen. I’m sure it could make it but it’s not something they’re going to bring a large ship into.

The Volga-Don Canal (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Volga%E2%80%93Don_Canal) connects the Caspian Sea to the Sea of Azov to the west. From the sea of Azov ships can sail to the Black sea, then through the Bosphorus Strait in Istanbul to the Mediterranean Sea.

This should be the story photo.

I am shocked, just plain shocked, to hear that he’s an Anti-Semite.

All snark aside, its made the FA comments section really hard to read and enjoy. Im all for debate and discussion (I’m wrong a LOT and come here to be corrected as much as share my perspective) but see through propaganda machines are not debate.

What happens is the engine quits mid course, and it just augers into the ground. We crashed a handful of Tomahawks in Turkey before.

“Get that shit off your head, I’m grilling this weekend.”

“Iran gave the Russians permission to use their airspace, so it’d doubtful they’d care if a cruise missile DID crash.”

This is what I thought. So if that’s true, the Russians built and deployed a fleet of warships that are forever trapped in an inland sea. That’s both bizarre and interesting to me. Seems like an awful waste of resources and money, especially when the Russians can barely keep their primary naval fleets operational.

This must be a great time to be a US/NATO intelligence officer/enlisted. You get to listen and see their weapons at work, here and in Ukraine. Priceless info.

Yeah, just like losing a submarine or two. No big deal. lol

The Black Sea fleet is basically a relic at this point.

And I’m totally sure there’s no black-market kit available to restore them to their original range, wink wink.

The russian ships in the Caspian Fleet look a lot more modern than their north and black sea counterparts.

Between this and the rocket launched torpedo disaster a few weeks ago, the Russian’s seem to be having some serious reliability issues with their missiles.

AND they are for sale... you buy! work GOOD, only fail 30% of time, YOU BUY!

“If Russian cruise missiles did crash in Iran, harming Iranian civilians, it could cause the first fracture in the increasingly tight alliance between Iran and Russia.”

This is totally ridiculous; if one of the missiles hits Israel we better prepare for the end of all things.

Not exactly the best weapons sales demonstration. Hopefully the Kalibr sells at a significant discount over the Tomahawk or Klub.

Russia’s response: No missiles missed their targets AND there were no casualties!
