Hate to be the bearer of bad news, but I’m not the one in a fantasy world. I’m also not sure why you think I’m paranoid.

What a cluster.
Yes that is precisely what I’m saying (and what most scholars are saying). Go read a book on trade lanes and blue water navies.
Do you really not comprehend the difference between asymmetrical and conventional war? It took less than two months for coalition forces to occupy the entire country of Iraq and defeat the Iraqi army in conventional warfare. That’s an incredibly quick invasion. What happened afterwards was an asymmetrical quagmire,…
I don’t know where you get your information but you really have no idea what you are talking about. I can see it’s pointless for me to try to explain any further.
You don’t remember the Soviets doing that. This is the New Russia, which must at least appear to appease the powers that be.
If the US actually stepped back from the world stage the world would descend into chaos. I don’t know what country you call home, but I do know that the only reason cargo ships can freely bring goods to and from your country is because the US Navy keeps it that way.
The USAF ain’t gonna be cheaper than UPS, but they will be faster (and better defended).
I don’t know if Putin is afraid or not, but he should be. His economy has been brought to its knees by diplomacy alone.
And we could probably counter with detailed satellite analysis of the Russian crash. His argument would not hold up in front of the UN Security Council.
The Russians have encountered F-22s during bomber intercepts, but those F-22s always carry drop tanks to obscure their stealth radar profiles.
Actually the coalition forces have cited Article 51 of the UN Charter, on the basis of terrorist attacks by ISIS followers.
I hope those Russian pilots are wearing adult diapers.
Lucky for us, the US military machine is easily the most capable logistics fleet in the world.
The proliferation of MANPADS in Syria is a terrible idea. They tend to easily end up in the wrong hands.
Anybody who has a decent understanding of foreign policy and geopolitics knew for sure in 2008 that Putin was jockeying against us. Russia was not insular during the Russo-Georgian war. To the average American voter Obama was right. But to those in the know he was either lying or ignorant. I hoped he was lying.
I thought about that not long after I commented. I’m not sure what kind of munitions those are in the video. In other videos I’ve seen they were definitely dropped by Su-24’s.
Reports are saying these airstrikes were actually carried out by Su-24’s.
Looks like the initial strike was north of Homs and was not targeting ISIS. If they keep using dumb bombs the moderate rebels may not have much to worry about. With the eyes of the world on them I can’t believe they aren’t using smart munitions, even when they’re filming it.
