The superhero TV shows all seem to have competent scientists/technologists. Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. has Fitz and Simmons. Supergirl has the antagonist Maxwell Lord. The Flash has a whole slew - Barry Allen, Caitlin Frost, Cisco Ramon, and Harrison Wells. Legends of Tomorrow has Martin Stein and Ray Palmer.
