I don’t understand their goal. They seem insistent on coming down hard on their biggest fans while not really keeping up with modern gaming technology.

“Continued strong sales mean Iron Steel is now the most successful game in AAAA Games history, bringing in millions for the publisher’s shareholders and executives. It has, however, failed to meet internal sales targets.”

Why? Is GDQ so sacrosanct that nobody else can do anything all week for just 30 minutes?

Not surprising. Only a small slice of players for a given game actually write reviews, and an even tinier slice do so on Metacritic. Even Steam tends to only get about 5% of purchasers to leave a review at best.

This author is talking about this game as if they’re going to see this game, go “wow this is better than anything we’ve ever done” and throw turn based strategy out the window.

What’s weird is Limbo wasn’t even that good? Maybe I came to it too late but I remember playing it and just getting bored with the fact that it was all about trial-and-error gameplay to solve each puzzle. I don’t remember any of the puzzles being something you could solve without first seeing what the trap was,

agree with you 100%. i liked the minute to minute battling gameplay but all the micromanagement and running around the entire campus constantly was annoying. just felt like endless anime busywork

Look, you’re welcome to have opinions on Fire Emblem and turn-based strategy, but a hint of nuance and would do the value of that opinion a world of good. Like, I’m glad there’s another game for you to enjoy, but the whining about turn-based strategy makes me wonder why you’re bothering with the Fire Emblem franchise

What I actually want to know is whether this will be accessible if you didn’t finish Three Houses. I loved Fire Emblem but bounced right off Three Houses, didn’t make it out of the first half - all the mucking around and Persona-style time management stuff left me completely cold, you only got to play the actual game

Its going to be nothing like Immortal.   Immortal is free 2 play.   Diablo IV is going to cost 70 dollars and still be chocked full of those microtransactions everyone loves!! :)

I still can’t get over that Kaido is one the most brutal, abusive fathers in fiction, and even he respects Yamato’s pronouns.

He’s going to be really upset when he hears about this new western lib fanservice anime featuring gender bending as its central plot point:

Ahahaha, you really think a random piece of merchandise is more canonical than the actual manga? Yeah, you’re not grasping at straws at all.

You gotta admire the idea that trans characters are absurd in a world that has people that can turn to dragons, become fire or create barriers at will. Hell, we’ve had trans and non binary characters since Alabasta. Bon Clay was non binary, then in Impel Down we got introduced to Ivankov who is gender fluid at the

I do find the notion of a fan of anime and manga calling gender bending content “western propaganda” quite amusing.

Dude, official sources from outside of the manga have been wrong before. At some point they confirmed that Shanks was a Yonkou when he met Luffy, turned out that was proven wrong in the manga. I’m not saying Yamato will end up as a confirmed guy for the rest of the story, I don’t think it’s Oda’s intention either. But

I second After the Rain. Great characters and great imagery that really made an impact on me.

As I said, by keeping the game alive. Even the whales won’t continue to pay if the game is dead. By playing, and encouraging others to play, you’re keeping the community around the game alive, and keeping the servers active for people to play with/against.

I can see what you’re getting at, and it is a nuanced take, but the fact is the game is set up to get you hooked and then start paying money. That might come after 45 minutes, an hour, three hours- but the longer you play the more invested you will be, and the more invested you are the more likely you are to spend,

This is a terrible take.
