OK okay see now if your like me then because you feel this way about Final Fantasy 5 how can you not be disappointed that the Final Fantasy 7 remake is not staying true to the series.

My recommendation: Watch the rebuild movies. At least the first two are way better than everything the series has to offer imo.

I only read about it now because I never read or saw HxH and the core concept of the world is a bit similar, yes.

Same, I my bet is that it will have its release in fall or winter 2020 since the engine and most assets are already there.

Tbh I’m way more careful with this remake when I was with Secret of Mana. (the remake is still the best version btw) The SoM remake was more or less a 1:1 remake while this remake will play completely different and after we’ve seen how well the last Mana games were (new titles, not remakes) I remain sceptic.

It would be fine for me if they removed Z-Moves but nothing was as awesome as Mega Evolutions. Not Z-Moves and certainly not Dynamaxing.

Of course the japanese version seems to be better but I don’t know if it would fix all the issues I see with FFVII’s story.

Here is the thing tho: Persona 5 and FFVII have the same genre but besides that they are not really comparible.

and them taking one of the very few times they did it right and then trying to expand on it just fills me with dread.

....or you could just play the original. It even looks better if you use the PC version with modded character models and AI-enhanced backgrounds.
