This whole launch cycle has been leakier than the Titanic. I’m betting high ranking insiders got tired of the games of chicken. They knew their price point and kne(o)w that Sony will HAVE to match or come close in order to compete.

Sony will probably price it the same, but up sell their superior first party games, especially since the Xbox doesn’t seem to have much going for it during its launch window. If Sony can get Horizon or something out in the window it’ll have a software advantage.

I’ll be surprised if they aren’t. Price point is critical to early sales, and early sales tend to dictate the market saturation for most of the generation. If everyone is buying an Xbox, everyone’s friends will start buying an Xbox. Especially if price is the motivator. The Series S will undoubtedly be the cheapest…
