While correct, you’re ignoring a major aspect of their being different races in medieval Europe: population size. There may have been as many as tens of thousands of non-white people there at that time... compared to a population of tens to hundreds of millions of white people. Many of the populace could go their

Japan shares 98% of its perceived ethnicity partly because in 1945 the Empire passed a law that none of its ethnicities were real and partly because of a subsequent attempt to adapt white supremacist narratives to its imperial ambitions, even straight-up using the German names of white supremacist ideological concepts

Not sure where the data is coming from, but it seems to be taking some demographic leaps with no sources, for example, dividing India from Asia to combine it with the Middle East, even though India is separated from the Middle East by two countries and 1,500 miles. Maybe they thought it would be harder to trust the

This. Lived experience is something of a double-edged sword in some instances.

I really don’t know why everyone is saying he quit todo Superman or wasn’t happy.

i imagine the witcher is a much bigger time commitment than superman. when cavill was superman he seemed to have time to join a number of other projects, but he’s been notably less productive since the witcher started.

I actually think that would help the show, because to me these elves don’t feel like they have lived thousands of years. They feel like regular Men with pointy ears.

Yeah, I think what I’m pointing to is that Celebrimbor’s error with Sauron is long and complex. It’s not an “I was tricked for two weeks because I was desperate” mistake. It was a, “I was collaborating with this guy for years because of my own ambition, turned on my friends, and led my people astray, and it turned out

They don’t have to have all the storylines in the show progressing over the same time period. The Harfoot saga could be effectively a slice of years happening in the midst of the much broader Elvish storylines. Same for the story of Arondir and Bronwyn with the Southlanders. Shows like Westworld have done that.

I was wondering that, too. Why are they rushing through the Eregion stuff so quickly? There should be a couple of episodes where Halbrand ingratiates himself into the graces of Celebrimbor and the Eregion elves, maybe even a fake-out to trick Galadriel by him lying/”revealing” that he’s a secret emissary from the

Yeah, this would have been stronger taking the GoT: HoD approach of time skips vs compressing the timeline. It would’ve given more gravitas to the characters, plot, narratives, etc. I agree, deff would’ve given everything more weight. The world here feels small and the compressed timeline lends to that as well.

CIA propagandist working for CIA propaganda company has been promoted sideways so she can defend CIA propaganda company from lawsuits over CIA propaganda.

He also literally made multiple mistakes that “the top chess player in the world” shouldn’t make, which directly led to him losing the game, so...

That’s a straw man. Being worried about cheating and pulling out of matches based on suspicion with no evidence that someone might be cheating are two very different things. Magnus is being criticised for the latter, not the former.

Cloudflare needs to shut KiwiFarms down. People have died because of them and people will continue to die because of what KF does. I really fucking hope Joshua Moon is held legally liable for something.

I was a edgy atheist once too, then I turned 18

Their comment was correct. How on Earth did it prove your point? By... disagreeing with you? That does seem to be most people’s definition of stupidity these days.

People caught swatting need to be charged for what this is: attempted murder. The intention is clear cut.

Asian-American dude here... lived in Hong Kong, Japan, relatives in the Philippines, etc... not your typical gweilo or gaijin... rather intersectional about my eastern and western identity.

Yet this site name is Kotaku. If there is a sense of irony about “appropriation” being ignored here... *shrugged*
