There’ve just been reports of actual fighting around the Chernobyl reactor. If would be the icing on the sh*t-cake if this ended up causing a containment leak.

Not in this case. The more he sweeps under the carpet now, the more grounds Microsoft has to let him go the moment they call the shots, arguing that he deceived them about the extent of the problems.

The fact that they aren’t removing Kotick as a first step shows that they aren’t serious about reforming the culture at their new acquisition. They’re happy to let it fester as long as they get their hands on all that lucrative IP.

It’s entirely possible Microsoft will reorganize the whole thing to break up structures responsible for the misconduct. But they can only do that once they have acquired Activision.

I say “Let him”. All the more reason for Microsoft to let him go once the acquisition is completed.

You would have instead preferred that those who enabled Kotic and Bobby himself would have been able to command far more money, yes?

Bobby has a contract, there’s no way he was going away without a payoff. But sometimes it’s worth throwing a little money at a problem to make it go away.

Nah, just the fact that companies aren’t charities. And we all should be glad when they aren’t charities for people like Kotic and the people who failed to stop him but exploit their failures to their disadvantage.

So?

Definitely not standard, at least going by other AAA games I played.

Sorry, but that’s laughable. Not only are buggy messes from the likes of Bethesda waved through as expected regularly, but Kotaku has accused CDPR of breaking the law without providing a shred of evidence beyond anonymous sources that apparently have no interest pursuing their rights in court.

Are you new here? Kotaku has been using every legitimate and illegitimate means to sling mud at CDPR.

All the more since a lot of games take “agency” in the context of combat to mean that player skill should be more important than character skill. Cf. Skyrim where kiting and click skills allow you to kill enemies your character should have a snowball’s chance in hell against whereas at the same time, even a high level

“Big patch” is a big patch for the main game and has nothing to do with DLCs. The very fact that they released a big patch yesterday indicates that significant portions of the devs have been working on the main game until recently.

Very simply, in an investor call (which, I should point out, is legally binding. They are NOT allowed to lie, and while plans obviously change, they are legally required to disclose this), they talk about how they have moved a number of people to work on the game’s first big expansion. So, there you go. We know it is

That’s cute. It would be halfway credible if Kotaku had not been running a campaign against CDPR.

Nobody is expecting a “oh it’s coming out tomorrow” type announcement, but an update that the dlc is still coming and even a rough but not confirmed time would be a good start when all that stuff has been promised by the company.

And that’s just the original game I’m talking about. If they’re really serious about “a potential cinematic universe”, that would also presumably involve a cinematic adaptation of BioShock Infinite, which....yikes.

Still blaming the “Polacks” for the state of America?

Gotta love the Kotaku mob badmouthing CDPR. They were a tiny company when they launched Witcher 1.
