Star Citizen is using Lumberyard, not developing its own engine. And even then, it does not take 10 years to do so.

Look, the video is technically impressive yes, until you consider the time involved in creating it. Ten years of game development for something that still isn’t finished and is still smaller than any MMO developed over the same amount of time.

what im getting from this is that in order to see more behind the scenes footage of game development and a better understanding on how triple a games are produced, we need to generate takes so nightmarishly bad that developers will have no choice but to dunk on them

Huge respect to her for keeping her stance even when it would benefit her personally to not do that (Award and monetary bribes). It absolutely fucking sucks that she is in this situation, but she is handling it extremely admirably!

Sadly not all that surprising if you just look at the previous Arkham games with even a bit of a critical eye.

Arkham Asylum came out in 2009. The fundamentals of sexual harassment policy and basic workplace ethics had been in place by then. I agree social attitudes have moved forward since then but “Don’t comment on your female coworker’s body parts” was pretty firmly established as a bad thing at this point.
