IIRC, loading times and lag only became real problems in TS3 once you started piling up on expansions. My memory may be biased by all the hate thrown at TS4 close to launch, but I remember it loading and playing decently with only the 3 first expansions, or so. I don’t hate TS4, btw... just think it’s lacking a bit in

Yeah, I can understand that, and I actually wouldn’t be surprised at all. Without peeking into the future it’s hard to see the best course of action, but I can’t shake the feeling that endorsing this kind of practice will do way more harm than good in the long run. It’s almost like I’m hoping for the best, while

Yeah, I get what you’re saying (although I don’t do the same). However, “voting with your wallet” only makes sense if you’re also not voting for stuff you don’t want. And by pre-ordering everything in a given franchise you are also voting for some rushed, downright bad games, effectively saying to the publisher that

Don’t want to spoil anything, but by DA2’s end, I think it actually makes sense for them (in particular Isabella) not to show up in DA3.

Woah, that does seem really nice! Being a PC Skyrim player is just the best.

Hammerfell could be good. Going by the redguard armor designs in Skyrim, they could go for some kind of Arabian Nights flair, just like they Elder Scrolls-ized viking culture in Skyrim.

Like I said, “as long as it doesn’t clash with the narrative”. Having women in Saving Private Ryan would’ve been idiotic. So would Boyz N The Hood with white people. You told me to see your WW example, and I did. I agreed with it. All your examples fall into that.

That’s exactly the reason why diversity should exist just because. I agree that developers should be free to do whatever they want, if it serves a narrative purpose, but I think it’s weird that straight white male is the norm and everything else must justify itself to have a place in a game. You don’t have to go out

Yup, only one. Just kidding, you're never the only one on the internet.

If this game is as good as it seems in Luke's video, I guess my backlog's staying as it is for the next months. Welp, I guess Hitman Absolution can wait a bit more!

I did a quick search and the last really good game from Maxis' Emeryville studio (the one they shut down) seems to be The Sims 2 (2004), actually. Since then they developed Spore, Darkspore, SimCity (2013), The Sims 4 and SimCity BuildIt. I guess TS4 was probably a cash cow, but I'm not sure how was its sales

Isn't it Tokusentai?

He's probably talking about the achievement.

I'll just add my 2 cents here. Disclaimer: I've skipped some of the stuff written, 'cause there's just too much.

I think futurepixels was talking specifically about the *interrupts*, not the paragon/renegade system as a whole. So yeah, I agree with both of you, the morality system was bad, the interrupts were cool.

I made an account just to say this: Kirk Hamilton is the best friggin' game reviewer out there (well, at least that's my opinion). And no, my name is not secretly Kirk Hamilton. Between the Amnesia review and this one, I don't even think there's too much competition in that regard. I get genuinely excited to learn
