luckily the DLC gave me 3 free overdrive protocols so I planned ahead for which characters will need which blades and I’m pretty good now. At least Rex and Tora don’t matter so just focus on the other 3. If you don’t have the season pass, well you may have to look up ways of acquiring some protocols. :/

I put a buttload of time into the game, really loved it overall, but there’s just no way you can say that acquiring rare blades with a system usually used for FTP systems is a good thing. I loved the blade quests (other than merc stuff) and having some of the best content locked behind lucky draws really sucks. I want

Personally I’d like them to have each core add a probability to your next open. So maybe if you were to open 50 common cores in a row, you’d all 1% each time and could accumulate 50% more of a chance to get a rare blade. I think I’m missing 5 blades and the last 8 or so legendary cores gave me crap. :/

I think the most important change with the new patch is that you no longer have to wait for your blades to finish talking when advancing menus. So harvesting and mercenary missions are now MUCH faster. Would have probably shaved 20 hours off of my 170 hour play time. :/

I was listening when that happened and it was awesome. While there’s a ton of people spamming “free the plebs” or whatever, it’s actually readable for once with less horrible stuff flying by. As someone who’s kept this thing on every day for years, I think it’s better overall.

It’s a bummer that most people are neglecting March Comes in Like a Lion. The first season was okay, but a bit dull at times. The second season started off slowly and then quickly rose to be the most emotional, down to earth story I’ve seen all year. Just a complete 180.

I’m sorry Jason but being able to instantly access your location on the map and having a better overlaid minimap LITERALLY makes the game less frustrating and tedious. Whether or not you like the game, you have to admit that much. :(

It’s nice to see Ys get some love.

fuckin around with obvious sarcastic ignorance is my favorite thing in the world. There’s good trolling and bad, and I’ll be rockin the good trolls till the day I die.

I was pretty disappointed by the automatic brightness limiting and the fact that the input lag is so bad that I have to have all my hdmi inputs set to game mode (which has inferior HDR).

I understand why they did it, but changing the names of seemingly ALL of the blades has been a little irritating. I go back and forth in my head when switching blades: alright topple with Pyr...homura, launch and slam with Suzaku...rok-goddamnit!

Is the entire game just training missions or do you eventually get to explore the rich narrative teased in the intro?

if you like character action games, then yes definitely. :)

Don’t get me wrong, it’s one of MY favorites, but I can see why it wouldn’t win against the competition. :)

Nier was fantastic, though the combat and backtracking could have been better. Zelda was just on a completely different level than anything else this year as I was actually encouraged to explore in an open world game for the very first time.

Nier has a great story, but the actual narrative is a bit familiar at times. The NineS stuff in Act 2 is the real standout.

I expected Zelda to take it, but I’m genuinely happy that Nier won best music.

At first I thought the younger ages meant that it was going to be a reboot or a remake of Soul Edge/Blade. But since it’s actually VI, maybe this will be a sort of dream match with all our favorite characters??

Fire Emblem still has me playing every day, though I’m not really “playing” it persay. The carrot on the stick is new characters and earning orbs by autobattling in one of the multiple modes is how you get it. It’s fun to build teams and check out new art, but it’s no Fire Emblem.

I honestly don’t think Tora is all that bad in Japanese :/. At least he doesn’t use the weird double words, and he actually says “mo” instead of “meh”. Hell, when you first meet him, he calls Rex his bro in Japanese, but instead they decided to go with “Rex-Rex” in English.
