I really liked Leo in Tag 2 but I think I’ll stick with Eliza and Akuma for now as I’m mostly a 2D fighter kind of guy. Also speaking of Leo, the bonus story chapter for him/her refers to Leo as a “he.” Is Harada just trolling us, was it a translation error, or did they finalize make up their minds?

so in order to keep a stable schedule, Square will be handling it themselves...

I just wanted to give props for the BBB reference.

Nah it’s not that strange. It’s directed and animated by a team that knows how to make a great slice of life comedy. The fan service is hardly offensive and it leans into it just enough to make it more endearing. I hate tropes myself but I mostly loved this show.

I think I’ve actually gotten more games on humble sales than steam. Just got the indie bundle with owlboy and co. last week. It’s great that you keep us up to date on the good ones because I wouldn’t know otherwise. :)

That’s really surprising as I remember playing the original in English and I live in the US. Hmm. Weird that Europe got it on a different format too.

Damn, I don’t remember this song at all and I was WORKING at a gamestop at that time. I was going to say it’s probably because I played in Japanese but I don’t think the first 2 Disgaea games actually HAD that option. Pretty cool song nonetheless.

It’s almost like they took all of the complaints about ugly faces to heart and decided to destroy everyone’s expectations. Kudos to Netherrealm.

Initial reaction to this story: We already knew thi—FRREEEEEEeee??

I love how completely divided these poll results are. Really goes to show that the switch design is more about appealing to individual lifestyles rather than having one as an afterthought.

I have never had a good experience with a virtual dpad, but I think it could be done right if the game is tailored for it. Holding a stylus will obscure things less based on how you hold the stylus and the fact that they’re thinner. Honestly though, the DS touch zeldas are my least favorite games in the series.

Yeah, maybe taking that idea and experimenting with action mechanics is the way to go.

I disagree. Your finger will get in the way of what you see. MAYBE if they have you moving your finger in a designated space away from the action it might work, but I think they could tailor the gameplay to work with an on screen dpad so long as it doesnt require a lot of dexterity.

yeah i think if directional controls are SUPER simple and dont require a lot of dexterity, they could make something like that work.

they have in the past, but done in a specific way rather than trying to emulate an actual dpad could work. I’m looking at crypt of the necrodancer and how you move 1 tile at a time. If they went with touch controls, then you’d be blocking the actual gameplay area.

Exactly, I was looking at this game the same way they made Mario Run in that you have a chunk of the bottom screen open just for the inputs and since it’s only 1 hand, a giant on screen segmented dpad would be fine since you’re moving 1 tile at a time. It wouldn’t be trying to emulate an actual dpad but I guess I

It’s possible, but I really don’t think you have enough fidelity with a finger to pull that off. Maybe if the world was like NES Zelda and it controlled with a 4 way directional pad (or “d-pad”) on screen. Maybe add a box to the side to choose your active item. You would automatically attack like Ys 1&2 or Hydlide. I don’t know, maybe it could work?

I came here to make sure she was mentioned and you have done it. Never have I felt so strongly about a fictional mom. Also, what a badass.

Yeah it’s up to you if you think it’s worth it.
