Are we sure this guy is human?

Came for the trailer, stayed for the legit j-pop track. God bless anime....

You forgot “There’s an old saying: ‘Fortune favors the bold’. Well, I guess we’re about to find out.” - Benjamin Sisko

and

“I only have one rule: everyone fights, no one quits. You don’t do your job, I’ll shoot you myself. Do you get me?” -Jean Rasczak

True. He does have the age too. He would likely be at the Academy or whatever post-secondary option by then

Honest question: assuming that you’re not old enough to have remembered the pilot of TNG (because frankly, I can’t see you being much older than me, and I’m in my low 30s), did you have this level of disdain/hate/malaise/whatever you want to call it for the first seasons of DS9 and CERTAINLY Voyager (we all know about

I’ve been saying literally this (the episode you’re referring to is ENT S1E5 “Unexpected”, courtesy of the Xyrillians) on Twitter, FB and carrier pigeon for the last sixteen hours.

Examples please. Not being sarcastic.

The Xyrillians had it in Enterprise (S1e5 “Unexpected”) and shared with the Klingons. It’s not out of the realm that they shared with the Fed too. Also, keep in mind that at the time of ENT, ships couldn’t generate near the power necessary for holodecks (also why they didn’t have shields).

Fair enough as far as them changing their mind on Spock. The more I think about it, I now actually FULLY EXPECT to see specifically Kirk (as part of an establishing arc to bridge between Discovery and TOS). Other than him and Spock, the only others we can could reasonably see is Scotty and McCoy, as Uhura and Chekov

Actually, the writers have stated clearly that you will NEVER see Spock. Kirk, I could see since at this time he’s on either the Republic or the Farragut

Okay, I can kind of feel your point with the prequel/continuity thing, and as an equally massive fan (and no, I don’t want to go toe-to-toe, even though it would probably be a riot that ends in a stalemate) I am beginning to get worried about how they’re going to square this. Yes, there were holograms before TOS (ENT

I do. Do you understand the inverse, that a show you don’t like for reasons can be good, right? (That was the point I was making, thank you for illustrating it clearly)

See! Quality television prevails! The reports of the the show being bad were GREATLY exaggerated by neckbeards who were just uptight about something new and different being done to their beloved fandom. This just proves something the Hirogen have known all along (from “The Killing Game”: Species who don’t adapt die.

Episodic shows and arcs have htier palce, sure. A lot of great Star Trek has come as a result. However, there’s one phrase that I like saying that I don’t get to as often in Trek, and when I do, it only happens during a two-parter. Do you know what that phrase is?

“I didn’t see that coming”

Last night’s episode is a

No, born and raised in NE Ohio, went to college in Columbus. I did move to PA for a better jerb, but that was only in the last six months

This NE Ohioan who lived in Columbus for five years thinks you’ve never been there, and are over the top at best and a complete idiot at worst.

Actually, Data was not the first person to say shit. He wasn’t the second either (he was the third). From Star Trek IV: The Voyage Home:

Former Columbus resident (and proud tOSU alum) here. This is a total racket. One could almost walk to Crew Stadium from Downtown Columbus. I wouldn’t want to walk through the streets between N. 4th and the other side of 71, but it can be done in about 90. Many people would be coming through from campus or thereabouts,

Fair enough, though I signed up for the service, and will have it free for another two weeks (because I planned to cancel , and they gave me a full month more). Also, it’s not just Discovery that’s on it. EVERY MINUTE of Trek on TV is on All Access. Yes, H&I airs it too during #AllTrek, but this is on demand...

Ladies, I don’t think there’s supposed to be a “presentation”. I believe that instead of teeing up the morality problems on a platter and then picking it apart to show how the writers handled the morality like classic Trek would do, this one is making the viewer think it through in real time, AND then pick it apart
