You left out the best part about this week's True Blood episode:

Glover cutting back is really the only bad thing about this, but at least they've kind of written in some storylines that can help ease his transition out of the show (his uncertainty over what he wants to do in life, his aptitude for plumbing/AC repair, etc).

I love the shortest character in the comics is played by the tallest actor in the movie series as seen here.

I've never heard of this one; I'll have to check it out!

Assuming the suit's designer wasn't a fan, of course...

I loved it too. My daughter and I have long discussions on why we can't pick our favorite Marvel/Avengers universe movie because they've done such a good job so far. But if there's one I'm going to re-watch, it's usually Captain America.

Inflexible fate... or No Fate but What You Make. There is another possible vehicle in the idea of temporal inertia. We can change a moment's historic detail and begin a chain reaction of consequent change but time itself will begin to correct itself to revert to the original path. Large, significant changes (like

I kept thinking of the "Greatest American Hero" and a supersuit with no instruction book. At least he didn't have to try to fly without any clue as to how.

This show is growing on me. I do wonder why no one seems to be aware of the quantum universe idea where every choice creates two universes with two timelines.

I believe Grabbers is getting some sort of US release? On VOD perhaps? It's a fantastic little film, done for no money, about a giant tentacle monster wrecking havoc on a small Irish town! With Richard Coyle from Coupling!

Agreed. Their relationship was heartbreakingly beautiful. I cried. I NEVER cry during films. Especially "action" films.

At the risk of being culturally and racially insensitive I recommended this comment because Michelle Yeoh.

Yes, I get that Ninjas and Samurai are Japanese and Michelle Yeoh is ethnically Chinese (though Malaysian by birth), but on a site like io9 where television shows like "Supernatural" and "Game of Thrones" are

jesus christ how did i not bring her up. i love michelle yeoh in ANYTHING SHE DOES. you get tons 'o +1s for that.

I would love to see a series of the book Transition. Briefly it involves an mercenary parallel universe jumping (our universe being one of the few universes not aware of parallel universes).

Not in a sliders or Quantum Leap sort of 90's universe of the week format. It could be an 2 or 3 season long tale of a hitman

Yet another reason to compare this book to Stephen King's work. A lot of the characters and scenarios need to build and percolate for the audience to feel its full impact. I don't think that would be well-served in a movie but a TV show could really hit it out of the park just by being able to control the pacing.

Fat survivor is best survivor...

Fishburne can't even outsmart one cannibal working for the FBI, how can he even stand up to an army of them?

Problem: Kids that grew up watching Monsters Inc missed the frat house genre by at least a decade.

Some of those black cars in the Transformers videos (especially the two being loaded on the truck) look like they may be Stunticons.

This is a tough one, because the show had enough notice to wrap itself up in a nice, happy-ending bow. It would have been cool for the story to have time to explain the parallel-verse phenomenon a little more - I think it would have gone somewhere a lot more sinister. Mostly I'm just sad it got cancelled. There was an
