You'll have to forgive me if I am skeptical that playing pretend fat person for a day is going to help them better relate to their fat patients. It's insulting. Would we let doctors wear blackface to better relate to black people? I think not.
I agree on the point that medical professionals are people who need to work on their vices, but I'm still not convinced that this is the way to do it (see many other commenters who have suggested that this might increase fat shaming).

Medicine is a people-oriented business. If you can't relate to people and try to actually help them with their medical problems instead of judging them then you really have no business practicing it.
