Computers typically don’t need to be plated and titled by the state, prepped for sale, filled with gas, financing or leasing details worked out, and features gone over so that people don’t say the car is broke because they don’t know how to use it. Your way would work for 5% of people.

Sure this would work for about 5% of the people buying a car. How about a trade, credit issues, plates, detail, learning how to use the features, prep (dealers do the final inspection of the car to make sure there are no issues and fluids are filled.
