The federal government should either get much, much smaller, or states like California, Texas, and New York should be placed in some sort of separate status that allows the rest of the country to be influenced by them in a much smaller way. 

At the end of the day, we aren't going to sacrifice comfort and convience for something that won't kill the planet until our generation is dead. Props to the kid for trying, but we will have another world war before China and India get "serious" about climate change.
