Wait a second....so you’re assuming you know that there aren’t other black women in the workplace (by the way, what do ponytails have to do with black women?). You guys just don’t have many facts about this and are in full blown outrage over it.
The gawker beehive (great term!) is in constant faux outrage. I enjoy it as well. I rarely comment, but I just need to understand on this issue whether or not the worker had any religious reason for the head scarf...and not a single commenter has shown that she has.
You sure it’s harassment? You a lawyer? I want to hear from a lawyer about this...because it looks to me that the boss just doesn’t want head scarfs worn and this person was wearing one so she sent out a memo outlawing them. That might not be great on tact, but harassment? You sure?
Yeah, you keep believing that she’s ‘quitting with style.’ Also, someone tell me how a head scarf is different than a hat. If it’s not for religious purposes, her boss can outlaw freaking head wear. How the hell are we having this discussion? Did I miss the part where she’s actually being discriminated against? I…
Can someone show me please how it was discrimination? Were her religious freedoms discriminated against? Is she wearing a religious head scarf?
I once had a boss that didn’t want men with hair below their ears. She was a fucking idiot. But those of us that wanted to keep our job cut our hair if it was long. I really don’t see what every one is bitching about. We’ve all got issues with dress codes. Unless it’s a case of racism...which telling someone you don’t…
How do you know it’s racist? You’re just assuming. Do you know this as fact or just going with faux outrage as your logic?
Hey Vidikron....I’m with you. I don’t want to side with management on anything. But dress codes are all over the work place. We have to deal with them. When we decide not to, we usually get fired. Other than the inappropriate “cultural head wear” comment from her boss (or whatever it said), her boss can tell them to…
The hemisphere you live in has nothing to do with the way water flows in your toilets. THis has been debunked so many fucking times and it drives me crazy. The Coriolis effect applies to hurricanes, but not your toilet. What happens is simply that the jets in the toilets are pointed a certain way depending on the…
