It’s always said universal health care means massive taxes but it really doesn’t. If you compare countries with universal healthcare (Europe, etc) you’ll see that taxes are more or less the same. The difference? No massive military budgets. Also, centralised taxation.

I am so happy I had my kids in a country with universal healthcare. Didn’t cost me a penny to pop them out. Didn’t cost me a penny for pre-natal care and didn’t cost me a penny to see the paediatrician ever. It’s kind of awesome when I think about the alternative.
