At a certain point in the price of a vehicle, fuel mileage no longer is a significant factor in the economics of purchase.

But the fact is, the hybrid V6 still uses around 30% less fuel than the V8 option that it replaced... and makes more peak power as well.

Well it’s about time Toyota’s trucks got hybrid powertrains.

Now this is a speed bump.

I like it when there are sparks and crunchy sounds.

Not gonna lie. When I had a beater LTD years ago, I would zoom those things, just to hear the creaking of the saggy old suspension and catch some air as it bobbed up and down.

Only the hybrid Camry.  And it weighs 3595 lbs. Look it up.

I’ll take my old Tercel with it’s 43 MPG, and brew up my own juice for it at home in the basement with electric power. There are always alternatives.

So. Another crypto-bro proven to be an idiot. Color me unsurprised.

This is why electric vehicles need to be built with standardized battery size/capacities, and be replaceable. Trying to go integral with the structure and proprietary is a mistake with huge consequences.

Nah. We wouldn’t be fucked. A large percentage of humans would die, yes. But the species would survive. Essentially, predation would return to cull Homo sapiens. It’s just that instead of saber toothed tigers and leopards at night, it would be microorganisms.

To be fair, I imagine that name could apply to most of us here at one point.

Much better with a single-cylinder engine for sure.

On knobbies. With enough power to wheelie right out from under you at the first attempt to ride it. No brakes. No suspension.

I’ve worked in software for 20 years and not much surprises me, but this one sure as hell does.

The story goes that the creator loved the old Defender and actually tried to buy the tooling from LR when they announced they were killing it off. When he was rebuffed he decided to build his own. Billionaires gonna billionaire.

Well,

This is The Lord Our God warning you about touch screens and computer interfaces in mission critical appliances.  If you don’t pay attention, it’s on you.

so if your cluster fails continue to drive it until you go to sell it..... then boom! like new wrangler!

For the everyday definitely, but I was thinking more akin to a bolt action rifle versus something semi automatic. Just has a nostalgic feel to it if you make it special enough.
