I can't think of another time a TV show "fake killed" a character and afterwards I was not only okay with the stunt, but MORE satisfied with the way it played out. Kudos!

Guess I'm just unreasonable, cause I still don't HATE him. I like him when he's used sparingly for small gags, but he really can't hold up an episode. He's a bit too much of a gimmick/one note character for that, and his schtick doesn't get that much mileage.

I don't dislike Ronaldo the way a lot of people seem to, but his episodes are just the worst… Sorry.

I must say, I find the idea of filling out a Mad Libs without using any naughty words shameful and un-American! Do better, Steven!

I agree. I think, if I had one issue, it was that the ending was a bit too much of a retread with nothing to add, so it rang a little hollow.

When he said there was no-one there but him, and he was just talking to himself (paraphrasing), I took that to be a pretty explicit clarification that she wasn't Rose in any real sense. At best it would be like trying to get new info out of someone in your own dream.

Yeah, aside from consistently ranking among the funniest (and best drawn) episodes, I think the Florido/Zuke team deserves additional acclaim for all the NASA-grade ship fuel they produce. 'Too Far', 'Log Date', 'Barn Mates', 'Beta', and now this? That's the high octane stuff, baby.

…But then I see people on the internet calling this episode filler and/or complaining that it was poor character writing, and I'm like ???? Did we just watch the same episode? Are you sure we're the same species???

Look, I know Pearl is great. Obviously Pearl was the MVP for this episode, but… as a huge Amethyst fan I really just need to express my appreciation for how great she's been lately, too. One of my favorite things on this show is the relationship between Pearl & Amethyst and the way it's developed over time in such a

True, Lars is a total tsundere. Thats why I can't hate him the way most of the fandom does. He probably likes Steven a lot, but I imagine he's also at least a little jealous and resentful that everything he wants so badly comes so effortlessly to Steven.

He might legitimately be the townie with the second lowest opinion of Steven after Lars. Or he should be. I mean the guy is stressed out and overworked as it is, and it seems like Steven does nothing but give him additional grief. Well, at least until now.

Honestly I wasn't really a fan of this summer's "townie" episodes (well, except maybe "The New Lars") so this is actually the best one for me since "Onion Friend". Maybe it's just that I like Mr. Smiley? B or B+ for me. Some people are overthinking the fact that nobody recognized Steven, though. I know the show

I have to agree, actually. And I usually love the songs, too. This, "Tower of Mistakes", and the song from House Guest are the only ones I'd pass on so far. The accompanying visuals were wonderful, though. On a partially related note, this just reminds me how super psyched I am for the Little Witch Academia anime.

Oh, Smoky… I love you as a character, even if that design is just such a miss for me. Hearing Smoky go all self-deprecatingly sardonic (heh) really gave me those Nicky Nichols vibes.

In retrospect, that makes a whole lot more sense. What kind of monster throws out their manga?

My headcanon is that Amethyst fished that out of Ronaldo's trash. Or maybe Jane's? It does look to be a shoujo manga. Connie's a pretty big weeb, I suspect, but "Pretty Hairstylist" doesn't seem on-brand for her.

A C+? Well, to each their own, but I personally found it to be one of the better "breather" episodes, and I was totally feeling all the slapstick shenanigans. Its flat-out silliness was actually a surprisingly good way to decompress after "Bubbled" which, while it featured some good story beats and a few good gags,

After reading this review I feel like a need to make a bit of a defense on behalf of Super Watermelon Island. While I agree that as a resolution to an arc it felt a little too abrupt (I feel that's true for both episodes), I also think that many people are totally overlooking the significance of Steven's actions in
