Same. Also, not just too old. Too many questionable comments about race, including one hella recently. And then there’s the matter of not responding quick enough to sexual harassment in his campaign. And, has he ever commented on the toxicity of some of his (male) supporters?
Jamie also wants to kill him because he takes extreme personal responsibility for any crime Bonnet commits going forward since he took a chance and decided to help him escape the gallows. Jamie didn’t want Ian killing Roger (when he misunderstood who Roger was) for the same reason, “I won’t make a murderer out of you”…
It may have been a myth but that doesn’t mean some slave owners didn’t believe it. I’m sure a lot of slave owners thought of themselves as benevolent. That thing about institutional evil like that it gets justified in so many ways people believe without question. I’m sure many slave owners thought of themselves as…
Jenny Lewis announced a new album out in March and Kathleen Edwards said on Facebook that 2019 will be a “big year” implying she may have a new album out.
Salsify is delicious! I had it once when I was staying at a Shaker inn in Kentucky. (I’m not entirely sure that’s right. It was definitely Kentucky, and the inn was old-timey.)
I read Dear Prudence over on Slate, and a couple of years ago I was in a museum in Toronto and brushed past PRUDENCE (the one from before, not the current one.) I didn’t say anything but was kind of impressed/ashamed that I instantly recognized her from her photo on Slate.

[in a real stupid voice] “When you choose to play in the NFL, you are choosing all the risks that go with the reward of being on the biggest (American) football stage in the world.”
I don’t give a shit about 90% of football either (I only still play fantasy because its a family league and they wont let me quit), but I still read every WYTS top to bottom. It’s too good not to.
Counterpoint: Compared to the flaming garbage I see on the rest of the internet every day this discussion struck me as downright charming, actually. These guys are far from “the worst” and in fact seem perfectly fine.
As someone (male) who was molested from the age of ~10 to ~13, thank you for writing this. It’s next to impossible for children to know that what’s happening isn’t right, especially when it comes from an authority figure, and I’m very glad you didn’t shrug it off.
I spent a week during the summer of 2002 writing over 100 pages of a fan-fiction about the vines but couldn’t even get myself to write 60 pages for my Master’s thesis for over 6 months.

Either way, I’m sure Rich would be a dick on both platforms.
