Martha Stewart went to a regular minimum security federal prison in West Virginia. Orange is The New Black is based on the minimum security prison in Connecticut, so picture that. Money stuff is both a federal crime and a non-violent one, so these people will likely end up in the same type of prison.

According to an anti-vax idiot that I know, it’s because the pharmaceutical industry is so corrupt that they try to sell you on care that you don’t need just to make money. And the pediatricians are part of it because they get paid per vaccine they administer. Of course, pediatricians are some of the least-compensated

I was once in the apartment of this couple (not rich) who had covered the entire place in photographs of themselves from their multiple engagement photoshoots and wedding. They had minimum three photo albums sitting out and probably two dozen silver framed photos on top of every surface, plus more photos hung on the

The best I can figure is that since the friend willingly lent her the money (and it covered goods and services received by the friend as well) and there was no contract requiring repayment, it’s not technically a criminal offense, just a woman getting scammed? The friend willingly chose to put down her company credit

Two reasons: It’s nearly impossible to collect monetary damages from someone who doesn’t have the money and It’s also REALLY expensive and a very long process to sue someone. I was scammed by the people I bought my house from. They implied something worth $20,000 was included in the sale but they did not have the

I know it’s dumb but I just got a puppy and bought her the “consumer watchdog” collar sold by Elizabeth Warren’s campaign. She spends all day looking out the window so it feels pretty apt.

I met Warren at her campaign launch and just after saying hello, her husband walked in with Bailey, I loudly gasped and immediately refocused the conversation on that beautiful angel while trying to pet him.

Elizabeth Warren’s campaign sells cat collars that say “purr-sist” so consider yourself seen.

Yeah I am aware of this. I was just wondering how much your cable cost. Seems like a big distance between me currently paying $20/mo and previously paying $120/mo. We are already seeing niche streaming sites fail, so it’s clear that we do not have an unlimited appetite for streaming. Studies show that people only

Yeah, but I think it also preserves the idea that Harvard is “the” school to brag about.

yes, but keep in mind that the loudest voices on the internet are not necessarily representative. The media makes money on Extremely Specific Opinions on Royals. I doubt most people care very much about whether Meghan poses with the baby or not.

I was kicked off a relative’s Comcast cable streaming account years ago when the service started to only work if it was running off the wifi network associated with the account. So sneaky.

I am 100% in agreement on this. I was an early adopter for Netflix so I have bartered it for Hulu, HBOGo and Starz, keeping my monthly costs to a tidy $12. The only one that’s tricky to share is Amazon and I pay for that because of the free shipping not the streaming.

I understand what you are saying and I definitely always have an old sitcom that I am binging (currently 30 Rock) but smaller episode orders also help Netflix take a chance on many more voices/perspectives and entices creators/actors/writers who otherwise would not want to commit to a 22 episode season. Long seasons

Yes, but they can cross promote their other properties on their own services, which they can’t do on Netflix. They can also sell ad space and raise prices. Like, the Disney service sounds like a great deal for $7, but I’d be very surprised if it stayed that cheap for very long. These companies are here to maximize

It’s brilliant that Amazon re-ups once a year instead of monthly. A lot of companies that depend on recurring monthly payments see a rate of attrition just from people canceling their credit cards and deciding they no longer want to pay for the (streaming service/charity donation/meal kit subscription) when they are

But now you can lose your internet service if you are caught pirating more than three times...not worth it.

How much does your cable cost? Cable pricing/options vary widely across the country, but streaming services have only one price. I cut cable in NYC because it was $120/mo and I only had one option for a provider. Paying for two streaming services is way cheaper.

People should be going to jail for replicating the existing model of cable TV? What?!
