Eh, again, I wouldn’t call all that loyal to Shiv because again, he was more than eager and had no qualms about throwing her under the bus and straight up betraying her for his career and his own interests. That if Shiv never came back to him after everything, he’d be okay with it, because Tom’s primary MO was to make

I loved it. It’s like Hitchcock as done by Kubrick in the 50's. Great music too.

unfortunately, most world leaders and “successful” people are psycho/sociopaths. there are several studies in the US that have found it is almost impossible to enjoy being extremely wealthy unless you are a sociopath because of the cruelty required to attain and maintain that status (these studies have focused

Kudos to all of those responsible for this season’s rebound. They have eschewed TV cliches and also allowed the extended cast to really shine this year. The writing and story structure and editing has been dynamic and effectively used. The subtle tensions and foreshadowing keep you on the edge of your seat waiting for

An utter lack of empathy and an unhealthy amount of narcissism. Imagine if a world leader ever attained office with those characteristics. (shudder)

I feel like Villanelle is almost the next iteration of Tatiana. Her mother is cruel and manipulative, but wants to hide it, so she creates the fiction of being a good mother and only abuses the people around her. Villanelle, however, wants to be seen, wants to be noticed. So she spreads her wings and finds ways to

The cut after Villanelle starts to sing along was perfectly timed.

So, so much of that was among the best TV I’ve ever seen. The white light with a drop of black ink inside turning into Elliot’s eye as it opens for the first time. M83's “Outro”, capping off the end of S3 when “Intro” played while Mastermind-Elliot undid the 5/9 hack. (and of course, “Mr Roboto” - thanks for one last

Great review! What a ride this show has been. I’m going to be mulling over this finale for a while - there’s a lot to mull - and will probably do a rewatch of the entire thing to see how it changes the experience.

Wouldn’t disagree with you. Perhaps I worded things a bit too strongly: It’s almost certainly not going to ruin the whole show, for me, and there is still a lot to love about it, overarching plot aside, as you’ve said. But I will be disappointed if the ending doesn’t justify certain narrative elements.

My opinion of this show has always been that it’s going to live or die by its ending. That’s not to say I don’t love it so far, and that I haven’t enjoyed the ride, but whether or not I (and, I suspect, most people) remember it as an all-time great or not is going to depend on how well it sticks the landing.

Iit’s funny because within my little bubble of Los Angeles filmmakers, most people consider s3 the weakest season, and I know numerous people who absolutely adore S2 (myself included).

I loved how Esmail teases us in this last season. “That was some cliff-hanger shit they left us on” - every week on Mr Robot.

Dom - you magnificent bastard, you! That was so badass. I knew she was planning something against Janice - all those van stalking and street notes. The whole thing with Deegan. The way she made him save her family was genius. But the way she took the knife out of her lung, got the gun and then got those Dark Army

Right, that’s why I was trying to understand why she was named in the press conference in what was ostensibly a list of people killed in the bombing. But as another commenter posited, it’s possible that the press conference also included any newly-identified deaths — which Odette’s was since Moira had just confirmed

The Repton stuff is pretty much how I think are weekends with the Koch brothers.

Someone asked me last week why I didn't give a reason for not liking Chloe. I now have one. Chloe is, and I hope I don't get banned for saying this, a Manic Pixie Dream Girl and is an ill fit for this series. She's a caricature. She's someone who got on the wrong bus to Generic Romantic Comedy Town and ended up in

At the end of the first half of the season, I would have said yes. Now I would say no. After last week's episode, I really didn't want to watch the show any longer, but I figured I should at least finish the season and watch the finale. I regret it. I know some people liked it, but it's just too brutal for my tastes.

That's the part that I keep wondering if the show is going to get back to: i.e. what this fantasy world is saying. If you remove the supernatural trappings, it's about a woman fantasising about leaving her slightly boring and average looking husband for a dreamy manly man who's strong but damaged and just needs the

Seriously. This review consists largely of a must-win-argument callback to Game of Thrones and a quote from a former AV Club reviewer I also didn't care for. Gender politics and pop culture criticism don't mix well, for my taste and the "Outlander is so much better than Game of Thrones" thesis is juvenile.
