Cars 40 years ago required much more than “turning the key” and driving away and you know it. They were traction limited due to the tires and much effort went into learning a proper launch. A 3500lb car with over 400ft/lbs of torque on bias ply tires was tricky.

Thank you for your input. I’ll remember that for the next Aston Martin hypercar.

Dad traded his Porsche for a Thing. It somehow had grass in the gas tank.

I used to think the tiburon was fast because it had dual exhaust and that if you make the single outlets into dual outlet for a total of 4 exhaust outlets, the car would be fast because each cylinder could breathe better. I was not a very bright 13 yr old.

In what I think were my later elementary school/middle school years I thought that “turbocharged” meant the car had dual exhaust pipes, and that “twin-turbo” meant quad exhaust. I’m not exactly sure what got that into my head, but I remember adamantly arguing that my dad’s B5 S4 couldn’t be twin-turbocharged because

I expected so much more carnage
