Lol at the 240sx comment. No one runs the stock motor NA in that car for a reason. When it was released the press rated it’s power output poorly as well. I believe the only reason it had a 160hp motor in the USA is because Nissan was going broke and didn’t want to spend the money bringing the turbocharged motor

The general rule of thumb is every 100lbs is worth 10hp. So 500 pounds “cost” 50hp, and they got 100hp out of it. So I’m not sure where your statement is coming from?

Yes, people would like more power but I believe the real problem with this car is that the engine isn’t very good. Have you looked at a dyno graph for this thing? low torque in the front, then there is a substantial dip in the middle, then it falls off a cliff over the last 1000k rpms. Who wants that? It’s not the

This kind of context reminds me of why I laugh everytime I see someone bragging about their car at 140k only having half the stuff in their car isbroken. I watched a video the other day where a guys car hit 140k and he called his immaculate when like 6 or 7 things were either aged or broken in it, and the car was

I don’t believe this car only has a point unless you hate convertibles or the s2000 has gotten too expensive. A friend of mine was looking to buy one of these a few years back, I told him, go drive an s2000 first. He got the s2000. Today his s2000 is worth what he paid for it, the same BRZ is about half it’s

I’m not going to stand on either side of this fence, but that much profit per vehicle is in fact abnormal for the industry. That’s why Porsche profit margins always make news. Also, from reading so many of the comments below, I don’t understand why so many people are ripping this guy apart for stating his opinion.

This is extremely funny when you consider that everything I’ve seen about Tesla, including in person, says they’re not very well built. Crazy panels gaps on a 70k car? How can you be snooty about that?

They don’t even need to do any R&D for the new MR2. Just build the car with off the shelf components that everyone is doing on their own right now. MR2 Spyder + 2zzge + JDM LSD 6 speed transition. I have one of these, the car is an insane amount of fun. And last I checked they’re clocking in somewhere in the mid

I don’t know about other states but in Florida, it’s only a problem if the key is in the ignition or the car is on(push button). This was how it was explained to me by a police officer.

Mazdaspeed 3s are all turbo charged from the factory.

I’ll help you out an take it off your hands.

Err...there are plenty of s2000s running around with over 120k miles on their motors. If that’s your definition of consumable, I’d like to know what’s not a consumable to you? That motor is bulletproof. Have you ever owned an s2000?

?2012? Audi R8, the one before the current(lighter) chassis. The car was just a pig around the track. I thought the car would be more sporty, but it’s not, it feels heavy, and it handles heavy.

I’m not sure I understand what’s supposed to be uncomfortable about that?

They rent the standard NA Chevy Cruze as well as a trim with a Turbo(ECO?). They’ll pretty much toss a turbo in anything now-a-days for fuel savings. It’s not all about performance anymore.

That’s an 11-22% difference in price, I wouldn’t call that small. A one or two year old car is still under warranty.

Definitely go with buying someone else’s project. If you don’t know how to validate their work, well then you’re going to have to learn that anyway to build yours from scratch so you might as well learn and then buy the project. I just “finished(they’re never done)” my 240sx project build from scratch. I had offers
