Is your point that the Islamic world hasn't contributed anything noteworthy to humanity in over 1,000 years?

Yes. There've got to be stakes, right?
I think the freakout you envision would have maybe been the case if it was 1998. Pretty sure Pavement/Malkmus's core fans are a pretty mellowed out bunch, and the elitists have long since moved on to more willfully obscure pastures.
I'm going to go ahead and assume that he was never a nice guy http://www.nydailynews.com/news/world/kim…
He's rumored to be suffering from gout, diabetes and blood pressure, and a brief period last year where he was out of the spotlight has been attributed to a broken ankle from those maladies.
Such a well-designed dungeon. Great atmospheric music too.
Maybe not my absolute favorite but one that comes to mind is the Shadow Temple in OoT. The opening scene of the invisible monster terrorizing Kakariko village made the quest seem a bit more urgent than your average Zelda dungeon. The fact that the temple was hidden in plain sight in a previously explored area felt…
You're 100% right. Aside from the illegality, they're always the most unsatisfying, least unique stories. It's stuff I could have heard about at the lunch table in freshman year of high school. "And then I hocked a big ol' loogie in his burger!" Instead of getting anything close to "sweet vengeance" the server just…
As a misophone, I am much happier sitting near people in my office who eat quickly than people who nurse a salad for 40 minutes or turn a small bag of chips into an event. Pull off that bandaid.
Oof. Get it together, Caroline.
Insisting that a steak restaurant in one of the busiest areas of Manhattan charge prices similar to Kansas, and the fact that they're stiffing people on tips by leaving Bible quotes, means that their status as provincialist Christian Midwesterners is pertinent to the story. No need to self-victimize.
Agreed. Even if the Hobbit trilogy was meandering and imperfect, I will spend as much time in that universe as is offered to me.
To paraphrase the Simpsons, "That franchise, like, tries too hard."
Rat tail, "furry" tail or honest-to-god stubby vestigial human tail?
If you had a horrible relationship with your roommate, why in the world would you ask her to be your bridesmaid?
Totally rushed, there's so much backtracking. Hawk the thief character is essentially broken, b/c his character is based around getting critical hits, and critical attacks don't occur because of a glitch. Evermore's fantastic, I long for the golden age of Square action-RPGs.
Couldn't agree more. It's worth a playthrough on an emulator (using pro action replay codes so that you don't have to grind) b/c there are some really beautifully designed bosses and the class system and techs are all cool, but overall the game is a slog- the story is non-existent, the music is really disappointing,…
Rude or criminally reckless? You should definitely kill a cop, that'll work out great for you tough guy.
Reminds me of the Killswitch urban legend, a fictional "lost" Soviet game that would supposedly destroy itself from a player's PC after the first playthrough to prevent multiple playthroughs http://karvinacorporation.wikia.com/wiki/Killswitc…
