I’ve always been in favor of a point raised by Noah Gervais (and reinforced by analytical concepts I took up after reading James Howell’s MGS2 analysis Driving off the Map) that the negotiation and renegotiation helps further emerge us in the character’s world.

I had the same read but I think Cole had some sort of social disorder of some kind prior to him huddling in the crater on the battlefield. His complete lack of social perception was with him in the Basic/OCS scenes as well.

People who prefer the PS2's “quality” visuals are the same people who think VHS offers an experience you can’t get with Blu-ray and that the distortion and low fidelity fuzzing sounds on ancient LP’s are better than than crystal clear audio where you can hear all the instruments.

There are more than two producers on the show. The two GoT guys are the big names, but it also includes the guy who helps produce Empire. So, no, this is not going to glorify slavery. It is going to have complex and interesting black characters.
