My ‘03 Chevy 2500HD 8.1L 6-spd has it up and left directly above first. At first I thought it was odd, but since 1st is a creeper gear and not really used it’s great. R-1-R transitions are great when moving a heavy trailer around. Also, there’s a minor notch going left to 2/3 and another notch going left to R/1.
