I keep wondering if the story will continue past the climax/end of the novel, otherwise it seems like this will just be a miniseries..

I think the TV show took place on the west coast, which indicates that the apes ruled over at least North America.

Thanks for telling us how empathetic you are.

Thanks for the lecture, Toni.

If so, we’d be setting up camp on the Moon first.

Does Elon’s come with point-defense canons?

I’d suggest reading the entire Frank Herbert series before reading any of the BH/KJA books.

I felt like the writing style was one of the things I hated about the BH/KJA novels. They used very short chapters that kept switching viewpoints, I guess in the hope that it would make it a page-turner. And they managed to dumb down the character motivations so much it felt like an ad-lib.

I also think that starting a series with God Emperor allows you to avoid all the baggage that accompanies the various versions of Dune that are out there.

It’s probably my favorite book in the series, and I’ve definitely re-read it more times than the first Dune.

Safely? LOL

I seriously thought about putting together a pitch for a God Emperor series, but I can't imagine I could get the rights to it, and the thought of having to include any of the non-Frank Herbert material makes me cringe.

I'd love to see this, but starting with God Emperor of Dune.

Watch out for loose seal!

I actually agree that most of the Snyder haters just don’t get it.

Probably because of climate change.

I’m an asshole, and I’m an atheist. But my assholery and atheism aren’t related.

Praying isn’t a thing atheists tend to do. Hoping that people wise up and discard their Iron Age fairy tales, on the other hand, is simply consistent.

‘Out of the Silent Planet’ and ‘Perelandra’ aren’t terrible. And I've enjoyed the Enders Game books, which is all I've read of Orson Scott Card.

So do they cut off the heads of infidels with laser swords in space?
