Sometimes weird shit just happens. I think he said he did a pre-flight check and acknowledges that maybe he missed it, or she got in after. I mean, who would look for a CAT tucked away in the wing?? Odd stuff can just occur sometimes, I hardly think this means he is a negligent pilot.

According to posts on this same piece on I09, he did check. Either he missed it or the cat snuck in between pre flight check and takeoff.
