Except there is clearly something shady going on: the board just wanted to shut the place down at the end of the school year, people were informed of the closing via Facebook and the media, and there was no push to the alumni for financial help before announcing the closure.

All of this despite that, IIRC, they weren’t permitted to run a capital campaign, which is what colleges routinely do to shore up their accounts. This whole episode is rotten.

Spitzer also said the college’s net assets appear to have increased over the last five years from $126 million to $134 million, while debt obligations dropped from $42 million to $25 million and endowment values rose from $85 million to $95 million.

The question that remains, and must be answered, is why the board and others were so adamant about shutting the college down? There’s a grift/corruption angle that no ones figured out yet. A rumor’s been going around that someone wanted their land for a Virginia Disney park; that specific rumor probably isn't true,

Sweet Briar has a far greater financial endowment than other women’s colleges like Mary Baldwin College. I really hope there is an investigation of the finances and what happened to the money.

I had a cat who would bite my mother if my mother yelled at me, then the cat would run like hell. At least one arguement resolved because we started laughing.

A win for Team Illumicati

People think cats “don’t care” (and some don’t, and they’re hilarious in their indifference), but many cats are as loyal as the best dogs. My boy cat likes to sleep right by my head and he usually keeps one paw on me at all times. And his little sister, half his size, protects him from our super (he hates the super

A woman I used to work with said her cat immediately bonded with her daughter, and would bite and swipe at her legs if she didn’t immediately go to the baby when she cried.

Better for whom? It’s not like the emotional fallout doesn’t happen, it’s just that you don’t have to witness it. Generally speaking, if you’re making a choice that leads to another person absorbing a greater share of misery in order that you might be able to absorb a lesser share, it’s not an ethical choice.

Maybe she even did sit him down and break up with him, and he was just too drunk to remember. Possible??

Sean’s looking a little rough there (as he has for a couple of decades.) Does he intentionally ugly himself up for some reason? Does he subsist on a diet of Marlboros, heroin, and $3 a gallon vodka? What in the world did Charlize Theron (Charlize Theron!) ever see in him? Perhaps they share an altruistic desire to

Seriously..what was that relationship even about?? The man is an alcoholic garden gnome.

It’s self-preservation if nothing else. I wouldn’t want to be the woman who had to break off an engagement to Sean Penn’s face after his track record.

If you "ghost" someone - it speaks volumes about your last interaction. Not surprised, really.

I don't usually delight in the demise of other people's relationships, but I am so happy and relieved that Charlize ditched that piece of shit.

We at Team Dog regret this incident and plan on investigating further.
