Hey Adam, any possibility of getting the bitrate knocked down to 32-48kbps or so on the audio podcast versions? 128 is a bit (heh) overkill for just spoken word, no? Cheers!

To keep it fresh, I usually just search 8Tracks for "acoustic" and whatever genre in feeling at the time. Then I pick a mix that has a lot of listens.

Nah, I kid. I'm familiar with your conversational style and was not at all offended. :)

I hear that MsCassLopez is a rabble-rouser, whoever the hell she is!

All you had to do was type in "H" or "W"

Holy extensions, Batman! :)

I'm already a grill master. Well...more of a stew master, if you get down to it.

Hey Adam and Whitson, I wonder if it might be possible to bump down the bitrate for the audio-only version? 128kbps seems bit of overkill for spoken-word audio. I think 32kbps or 48kbps offers acceptable quality. I have some other podcasts that I listen to that are just as long, but are 1/6th the file-size.

I'm very happy about the extensionlessness. As someone who likes to keep my browser as vanilla as possible, I'm happy to go to the feedly site, just like I used to go to the Google Reader site.

Google Plus is trying to do the "Highlights" features, however I haven't found a foolproof way to get everything into Google Plus that wasn't taken on my android. Picasa can do it, but it always feels hacked together, inconsistent, and just a bit muddy as Plus came on as an add-on after Picasa had already been around

Ya, the lack of attention to the android Google Voice app, website, and extensions is a little annoying and a little frightening.

I'm fine with the start screen as is. The only programs I really run are Chrome and Steam, so I'm super easy to please. I usually launch them via the Windows+# combo, not the start screen. (e.g. Windows + 1 opens the first program pinned to my task bar.)

Thanks Whitson, we've been having trouble with the author request form and so I'm not sure that people who have been requesting author status have been getting it consistently. I'm making a note in the open thread this week to address this as I think the best place for requests will likely be out in the open in the

Welcome to the fold. You're now a fully fledged author on Hackerspace.

Well said, sir. Well said.

I've been using Doggcatcher (and Presto for speeding up podcast playback) for ages now, but based on some comments here I might try Pocket Casts. Built in support for variable speed playback is a huge plus in my book.

I'm digging the portable app Spacesniffer.

I agree with part of your argument. That Keep will likely die at some point and it sucks that you can't get your starred Reader items out.
