This discussion reminds me of an ‘82 Chevy truck that I had essentially sold to a guy and as the test drive had us returning to my house, the thing quits, erupting into flames. The fire trucks came, the guy backed out of the deal, I called my wife for a ride.

It can be made California legal, but it will cost $6-12k, and take 6 months to a year. Most people who find it worth the time and money do it to things like $50-70k GTRs however.

I’ve met a few people with less than crystal clear imports in CA. Most are registered out of state.
