General Motors did it a little differently in 1964.

It’s one of those things that always gets overlooked, but holy shit does it look hard to build a car. From design to manufacturing, everything is complicated. Like, some dude (more likely a team) had to design, test, and build a machine to deliver a seat at exactly there right time to exactly the right place, and it…
My brother that lives in Marin had the converter stolen last month off his Prius. Only CA approved replacement was from Toyota for $1900. He ended up getting a federal certified cat shipped to a friend in Portland who then shipped it to him in Cali. That was only ~$300.
Is it Stand Your Ground or the Castle Doctrine Expansion Pack?
You know what is worse than getting your catalytic convertor stolen?
Every once in a while, you see a car that just exudes suffering, and you have to wonder what that car has seen…
You show me a local rash of catalytic converter thefts, I’ll show you a scrap dealer who thinks willful ignorance is bli$$.
I’m kind of surprised that there are so many surprised folks here in the comments. I’m living in California and this stupid shit has been going on for years. There was a lull a few years back when the state required recyclers to ask for chain-of-custody, but they apparently found a loophole because thefts are up…
Honda Element’s are popular too because they are easy to access and fairly valuable. I believe they can scrap them for like $800-1000. And it is expensive to get an OEM replacement. Multiple people make guards for Elements and other commonly hit vehicles. I think Prius’s (Pri-i?) are popular too.
For some reason our small rural county in California has had a great spate of catalytic converter thefts in the last month or so. Organized crime or complicit recycling businesses? Must be both for this crime to succeed.
You know that Acura has seen some shit. The path from being driven home by a senior level manager to carting around meth heads and stolen cats is not for the faint of heart. And since it’s a Honda, it probably has another decade of human tragedy ahead of it.
Probably traded in to cover the markup on a Palisade
I’m sure you checked under ‘Chrysler’. Did you check under ‘Maserati’?
My Mark VI has them and they are very polarizing. Here’s a quick video I just uploaded so you can see them in action. It’s absolutely over the top and I love it.
I keep asking myself who acquires this kind of showroom-mint time capsule and then throws on a bunch of bullshit decals that would *never* have been on a T&C? It’s making me angry.
If you are trying to market a car as valuable because it is original with low miles, you are much better off if the car is actually original.
More likely he got Kinja’ed and couldn’t make one, but either way.
Not a slide show?
Not a lot of comps, but it appears to be well priced. Don’t understand the votes here. NP.
I’m not even sure it’s a regulation thing. It might just not be cost effective to bring them over since they’re built overseas and wagons don’t sell well here.
